How often do you sit and really watch children at play? Watch without asking questions or offering suggestions or cleaning up around them? Have you ever really stopped and thought about play - about it's role in brain and body development, and the impact it can have on socio-emotional development and learning?
When we understand the play cycle, observing children’s play takes on a whole new meaning.
In this session, we investigate the play cycle, looking at frames, cues and responses. Participants will also explore play types, and discuss the impact that we as educators have on children as they learn through play, and reflect on the difference between play and a play-based program.
