The Sensory Processing Suite
Have you heard the term "sensory processing" and wondered what it's all about and why it matters?Â
Are you supporting children who are "struggling"? Maybe they are displaying aggressive behaviours, or finding it difficult to cope with change, or they bounce from one thing to another, or they are having difficulty with their motor skills. When we can look beyond what we see on the outside and begin to look at the sensory implications, a whole new story may begin to emerge, and our way of supporting these children will evolve too.
This suite is made up of four courses, developed and delivered by occupational therapist, Bonnie Berry. Bonnie is an occupational therapist with years of experience working with educators and early childhood services to support children. Not only does Bonnie know her stuff - she understands play. Bonnie knows the value of unstructured play and her work truly reflects this.
Throughout each of the four courses included in this suite, Bonnie discusses the links between Best Practice in Early Childhood Intervention and the National Quality Framework to guide educators in developing Family Centered, culturally responsible practice.
What will you learn?
So many educators will be familiar with the term "sensory processing' but may not be comfortable with what that actually means.
You will finish this suite of courses with an overwhelming amount of new knowledge regarding sensory processing and why it is so important in our work with children.
This suite is made up of four courses, developed and delivered by occupational therapist, Bonnie Berry. These courses include:
