The course will include the motivational strategies developed by Dr Claire Warden to promote effective communication and the recording of this through a variety of holistic approaches including the use of Talking and Thinking Floorbooks™ which are being acknowledged as effective recording and evidencing tools for young children’s learning and experiences.

This inspirational training course examines the place of consultation in the early years and how it can impact upon the planning process and educationalists’ practice. It is designed to look at the way we involve our children from birth planning their learning linked to the curriculum. Outcomes include learning to:

  • Match observations and planning to the needs of the child
  • Learn to plan effective child-centered experiences
  • Discuss how to use Talking and Thinking Floorbooks™️
  • Consider ways in which we can consult children in all areas of play

Join Tash Treveton, a licensed Floobooks training facilitator, as she leads your team to discuss how to use the Talking and Thinking Floorbooks™️ Approach in your service. Tash is the Co-founder of Inspired EC, a Newcastle based Early Childhood Consultancy and Training company that supports EC services nationally and internationally. Tash is a strong advocate for children's right to play and is the Australian training representative for Dr Claire Helen Warden (Mindstretchers, UK).

As a sector we understand the importance of connection, reflection, and inspiration in our work. By involving both the children and educators in the Floorbook, we create a dynamic record of the children's learning journey. It serves as a tool for reflection, celebration, and ongoing assessment, enabling us to continually enhance our program to meet the needs and interests of the children in our care.

The Talking and Thinking Floorbooks™ training will provide strategies for understanding the intrinsic motivations of children through multiple ways of consultation. For more information on what to expect from this training contact us at any time. We can’t wait to work with you!

What People Are Saying:

Today's session was fantastic, it was both informative and practical. I have never had the confidence to implement a floorbook, but after today I am really to give it a go. Thank you!

Dannii Heriot

100% satisfaction! Absolutely loved this! Loved Tash and her entire delivery of the training. She was amazing! Made it so easy to understand and be able to put into practice immediately! Thank you so much!

Sarah Pollard

Amazing session! I have read Claire Warden's book on the Floorbook Approach but still couldn't quite wrap my head around it all. Having it all broken down in person and being able to personalise it to our setting was great. Having chance to create our own examples was so valuable as I feel confident to start putting the learning from tonights session into practice. I am so excited to play around with it and see it in action.
