Children not only experience, but also express very intense emotions, which at times leave us, as Educators, overwhelmed, baffled and sometimes confused. The crying, tantrums and uncooperative behaviours we witness in children are a form of communication. When we know the neuroscience behind big feelings, and get curious as to why a child is expressing these intense emotions, we can better understand the cause.
Once we know the cause, we can hold that special space with each child, allowing them to safely release what is going on for them, which returns their little bodies to a state of equilibrium.
This course will show you the science behind big feelings, stress and crying, consequences of suppressed emotions, how to hold space for crying and tantrums, and so much more. This course offers something extra, that is currently not available in the current childcare qualifications. This can bring your knowledge, tools and expertise to the next level in offering a stronger foundation for the emotional wellbeing of the children in your care.
