We all have children, at various times who appear to be struggling. When we can look beyond what we see on the outside and begin to look at the sensory implications, a whole new story may begin to emerge, and our way of supporting these children will evolve too.

So many educators will be familiar with the term "sensory processing' but may not be comfortable with what that actually means...

Inspired EC mini courses are suited to anyone working in the early education and care sector. This mini course is designed to support anyone working with children in long day care, preschools, family day care, OSHC and schools. Inspired EC will guide you to consider your unique context, engage in research and reflective practice, and evolve to meet the needs of the children, families and communities in which you work.

In addition to previously working as educators, nominated supervisors and educational leaders, we currently are the approved providers for Inspired Family Day Care - a service that we started due to demand for nature based, risk friendly and community focused family day care.

Host an In-House Training Session for Your Team

Training and ongoing professional development are great ways to get your whole team or organisation on the same page. We often deliver In-House professional development through 2 hour face-to-face sessions with our facilitators. We can join team meetings, run an evening session, a Saturday morning, a professional development day or mini conference.

What is sensory processing and why does it matter? As humans, we are sensory beings. We explore the world through our senses, through the movement of our bodies.

Have you ever watched a toddler spinning around and around in circles? Or a six year old who rolls down the hill again and again? Understanding and making sense of the role of the senses in children's play is vital to creating opportunities and environments where children's natural instincts are nurtured and they develop physically, emotionally and cognitively.

In this workshop, we will explore the what and why of sensory processing and come away with practical ideas that you can use in your service.

The session can be held at your service during the day or evening, or on a weekend and runs for 2 hours.

We can also run this session online over Zoom during a team meeting, or based on your team's availability. Online sessions will run for 1 hour, and we recommend an additional debrief or implementation review to take place in the following four to eight weeks.
