PLAYGROUND DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT

Our process for playground design and development is quite unique in its collaborative nature. We work closely with your educators, management, families, community and perhaps most importantly - the children, to create spaces that are playful, natural and inspiring.

Your Vision, Our Mission

When we completed our very first playground design and development project in 2010, we couldn't have imagined just how many playgrounds we would go on to make an impact on!

We are passionate about playgrounds and firmly believe that nature is one of the greatest teachers in children’s lives. Each of our playgrounds are unique, designed to connect children with the natural world, provide ample opportunities for learning in all areas of development, while also being fun, beautiful, full of things to discover and having a low environmental impact. We also believe that providing opportunities to connect with nature encourages a love of nature and a desire to care for our lands, waters and skies.

We co-design with the children, families and staff. We understand that each service is different with different needs and our designs reflect that.

Involving all stakeholders, particularly the children, creates a beautiful sense of community ownership within the space, which in turns creates a wonderful sense of belonging. We draw the designs in a way that makes them easy to understand by a variety of stakeholders, while being engaging for the children. Our redevelopment process is organic and is intended to create a plan for the future of your service.

Take the first step towards upgrading your outdoor play area...

Our process begins with an initial consultation with Tash Treveton, our lead designer, where we assess your space and provide professional recommendations.

What does this look like?

Tash will visit your site to assess your centre's unique needs and requirements. This comprehensive consultation includes a detailed quote for the design, along with recommendations tailored to your specific goals.

The cost of the initial consultation is fully deductible from your project cost if you choose to proceed with our team.

Quoting and Budgeting...

We think it’s important to have long term goals to work toward over the years which is why we like to create BIG picture design concepts. Once the design concept has been finalised and confirmed we’ll begin the quoting process - We feel communication is key so during the ideation and design process we welcome feedback to ask us to tweak and change.

We understand that most services aren’t able to afford everything at once, which is why we are happy to renovate your service in increments. We can work with you to split the quote up into different areas to match your budget.  We’ll work with you to split the design up into different areas and introduce these different elements one by one as cashflows allow.

Meet the Team Behind our Projects

All of our designs are made in collaboration between lead designer Tash Treveton, the Inspired EC team, and the service's community. Our process is informed by families, staff and most importantly- the children!

Playground Experts

Consulting the people the design is for, children, results in a project that speaks directly to the individuals who will be using the space the most.

Tash Treveton is our Lead Designer and Consultant.

Tash uses her knowledge of all areas of development to ensure that the spaces we design meet these needs, as well as supporting play and a connection with nature.

Key Thinkers

The service's Educators, Supervisors and Families are the people whose daily experience and ideas bring our projects alive.

Why Choose Inspired EC?

  • Our design team are experienced early childhood consultants and former educators - we know PLAY!
  • Our landscape crew are experienced, skilled and understand how different it can be completing works in an early childhood setting (they are used to endless questions from 4year olds and 'unusual' requests from educators... and us!)
  • Your service will be provided with documentation of the design, collaboration and development process (very handy for evidencing the changes made and the reasons behind these. Perfect for A&R and also when new educators and families start at the service)
  • We embrace your unique context, location, local culture and native plants
  • Collaboration and connection are key!
